Content and photo policy

Pages are for people who have died

Create a page only if you are family or a close friend, or have the family’s agreement. If relatives disagree about a page, tell us and we will help find a fair solution.

Not allowed

  • Hate, harassment or threats
  • False or defamatory claims about anyone
  • Sexual content
  • Graphic or violent images
  • Private contact details or addresses of living people
  • Requests for money, or advertising
  • Impersonation
  • Anything illegal

Photos

Upload only photos you took or have permission to use. Be thoughtful with photos of living people and children, and with funeral or grave photos; if in doubt, ask the people concerned.

AI help and translations

You must check text drafted with our AI writing assistant before you publish it. Automatic translations are labelled.

AI disclosure (Article 50 of the EU AI Act): the writing assistant is an AI system, and we tell you so wherever you use it. What it drafts is only a suggestion, and nothing it writes is published until you approve it. Automatic translations are also produced by AI and are labelled as such on the page.

How we moderate

  • Anyone can report a page using our report form. If you give us your email address, we confirm your report by email with a reference number.
  • We decide within 7 days, or within one business day in urgent cases: a living person, a child, or a safety risk.
  • If we remove or restrict content, we tell the page owner why and how to ask for a review.
  • We also check every page automatically before it is published. A person reviews unclear cases, and you can ask for a person to review any automatic decision.

Consequences

We may hide content, suspend accounts or remove pages that break these rules.
