Anna Maria "Marie" Tussaud (1 December 1761 – 16 April 1850) was a French sculptor and handicrafter. She became renowned for her lifelike wax figures, including death masks of French Revolution victims. Tussaud later founded the famous Madame Tussauds wax museum in London.

Marie Tussaud passed away peacefully in her sleep in London in 1850, at the age of 88, having created a legacy that still fascinates millions today, continuing through her sons and grandsons.
