Charles "Pete" Conrad Jr. (June 2, 1930 – July 8, 1999) was an American astronaut and military officer. He commanded the Apollo 12 mission, becoming the third person to walk on the Moon. Conrad also led the Skylab 2 mission, where he and his crew repaired significant damage to the space station.
