Douglas Elton Fairbanks Sr. (1883 – 1939) was an American actor, screenwriter, director, and producer. He was famed as the first actor to play Zorro and for his swashbuckling silent film roles, earning him the title "The King of Hollywood." He co-founded United Artists and the Motion Picture Academy.
