Edward Calvin Kendall (March 8, 1886 – May 4, 1972) was an American biochemist. He was awarded the 1950 Nobel Prize for his work isolating hormones of the adrenal glands, including cortisone. Kendall also famously isolated thyroxine and contributed to understanding glutathione. His discoveries greatly advanced medical treatment.
