William Lipscomb (1919–2011) was United States best known for Nobel Prize-winning American inorganic and organic chemist.
William Nunn Lipscomb Jr. (December 9, 1919 – April 14, 2011) was an American chemist and university teacher. He was awarded the 1976 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his studies on the structure of boranes, which illuminated fundamental problems of chemical bonding. His work greatly advanced the understanding of complex molecular structures.
