Stanley Cohen (November 17, 1922 – February 5, 2020) was an American biochemist from Brooklyn, New York. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1986 with Rita Levi-Montalcini. Their work isolated nerve growth factor and discovered epidermal growth factor, fundamentally changing our understanding of cell growth.
