Soh Jaipil (January 7, 1864 – January 5, 1951) was a Korean-American physician, politician, and independence activist. He became the first Korean naturalized U.S. citizen and founded Korea's first Hangul newspaper, the <i>Tongnip sinmun</i>. Jaisohn tirelessly advocated for Korean self-reliance and democratic ideals throughout his life, both at home and abroad.
