Keith Allen Haring (May 4, 1958 – February 16, 1990) was an American artist and social activist. Emerging from New York City's downtown art scene, he transformed subway chalk drawings into a globally recognized visual language. He used his bold imagery to address social issues and opened the Pop Shop to make art accessible to everyone.
