Maurice Wilkins (1916–2004) was New Zealand best known for New Zealand-born English physicist and biologist.
Maurice Hugh Frederick Wilkins (December 15, 1916 – October 5, 2004) was a New Zealand-born British biophysicist and Nobel laureate. He initiated and led early X-ray diffraction studies on DNA at King's College London, playing a pivotal role in enabling the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA. He was later instrumental in recognizing the contributions of his colleague, Rosalind Franklin.
