Juliette Nadia Boulanger (September 16, 1887 – October 22, 1979) was a French musician, conductor, and teacher. She famously mentored many of the twentieth century's leading composers, including Aaron Copland and Philip Glass. Boulanger also broke new ground as the first woman to conduct major orchestras like the Boston Symphony, leaving an enduring legacy through her students and performances.
