George Wells Beadle

George Wells Beadle (1903–1989) was United States best known for American geneticist.

George Wells Beadle (October 22, 1903 – June 9, 1989) was an American geneticist and university administrator. He shared the 1958 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery with Edward Tatum of the "One gene-one enzyme hypothesis." His work fundamentally reshaped the understanding of how genes regulate biochemical processes within cells.
