Stephen Jay Gould (1941–2002) was United States best known for American biologist and historian of science.
Stephen Jay Gould (September 10, 1941 – May 20, 2002) was an American paleontologist and evolutionary biologist. He was known for his theory of punctuated equilibrium and his widely read popular science essays that brought complex evolutionary ideas to the public. Gould also campaigned for social justice and medical cannabis.
