Olympe de Gouges (1748–1793) was France best known for French playwright and political activist.

Olympe de Gouges (May 7, 1748 – November 3, 1793) was a French playwright and political activist. She authored the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and of the Female Citizen, advocating for women's equality and abolitionism during the French Revolution. Her bold critiques of revolutionary rule ultimately led to her execution.
