Marshall Warren Nirenberg (April 10, 1927 – January 15, 2010) was an American biochemist and geneticist from Brooklyn. He shared a Nobel Prize for breaking the genetic code and detailing its role in protein synthesis. His work was fundamental to molecular biology.
