John C. Breckinridge (1821–1875) was United States best known for vice president of the United States from 1857 to 1861.
John Cabell Breckinridge (January 16, 1821 – May 17, 1875) was an American politician and military officer. He served as the 14th Vice President of the United States, the youngest in history, before becoming a Confederate general. His life reflected the deep divisions of a nation on the brink of civil war.
