Carl Philipp Gottlieb von Clausewitz (July 1, 1780 – November 16, 1831) was a German-Prussian military theorist. His unfinished work, On War, fundamentally shaped military strategy by stressing the psychological and political aspects of conflict. His widow, Marie, ensured its publication after his death.
