Alfred Binet (July 8, 1857 – October 18, 1911) was a French psychologist from Nice. He co-created the first practical intelligence test, the Binet–Simon Intelligence Test, to objectively identify children needing educational support. Binet believed intelligence was malleable and warned against the test's misuse, advocating for children's placement in regular schools. His pioneering work changed how we understand and assess mental abilities.
